The 'better' is the use
of butterscotch flavored chips in this revised recipe for the
classic dessert bars.
Better
Than Hello Dollies
- 6 tablespoons butter or
margarine
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs - divided use
3 1/2 ounces coconut flakes
1 (6-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
1 (6-ounce) package butterscotch flavored chips
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup chopped nuts
- Preheat oven to 350°F
(175°C).
- In a 13 x 9-inch baking
pan, melt butter. Mix together 1 cup graham cracker crumbs, coconut,
chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. Press into the melted
margarine.
- Drizzle sweetened
condensed milk on top.
- Combine 1/2 cup graham
cracker crumbs and chopped nuts. Sprinkle on top, pressing in
lightly.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
Makes 24 bars.
