These brownies are incredibly
easy to make and just as good. Take a box of chocolate cake mix,
throw in two eggs, a can of cherry pie filling and a teaspoon
of almond extract and bake! And their topped with a just-as-easy
frosting made with chocolate chips, too!

Cake Brownies
- 1 (18.25-ounce) package
chocolate cake mix
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling
2 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
5 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 375°F
(190°C). Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix chocolate
cake mix, almond extract, cherry pie filling and beaten eggs.
Beat until well-blended. Pour into a prepared pan. Bake for 20
to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
- For the frosting, bring
sugar, butter and milk to a boil. Boil for about 1 minute, stirring
constantly. Remove from the heat and add chocolate chips. Stir
until the chocolate completely melts, then spread over the cooled
brownie cake. Cut into bars to serve.
Makes 16 bars.
