You'll enjoy a cup of this pleasing hot
cocoa...especially with its chocolatey kickin' hint of mint.
Grasshopper Hot Cocoa
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup hot water
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 cups milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup creme de menthe
- 1/4 cup creme de cacao
- Whipped cream for garnish (optional)
- Grated semisweet or milk chocolate for
garnish (optional)
- Mix cocoa, sugar, water and salt in a
saucepan. Over medium heat, stir constantly until mixture boils.
Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
- Stir in the milk and heat, but do not
boil. Remove from heat and add the liqueurs; blend well.
- Pour into 4 cups, top with whipped cream
and grated chocolate. Serve immediately.
Makes 4 servings.
