Sourdough adds its own distinctive tangy flavor, while the banana adds a subtle sweetness to this yeast bread. A recipe for bread machines.

Sourdough Banana Bread

2 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup sourdough starter
2 cups white bread flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  1. Place ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  2. Select Sweet setting and start machine.

Makes one (1 1/2 pound) loaf.
