This brown sugar buttercream frosting tastes
like caramel, it's wonderful on yellow, banana and spice cakes.
Penuche Frosting
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter
over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar. Cook and stir until just
bubbly. Remove from heat. Add the milk, beating vigorously until
smooth. By hand, beat in enough powdered sugar to make a frosting
of spreading consistency.
Frosts one (13 x 9-inch)
