Buttery shortbread oat
cookies studded with cherry-flavored chips.

Chip Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose
flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned
(rolled) oats
- 1 cup cherry flavored
chips
- Preheat oven to 300°F
(150°C).
- Combine butter, powdered
sugar and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add flour, baking soda
and oats. Mix well. Stir in cherry flavored chips.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonful
onto ungreased cookie sheets and flatten slightly with fingers.
- Bake for 12 minutes. Remove
immediately from cookie sheets and onto wire racks to cool.
Makes 2 dozen.
