Coconut Treasure Macadamia Nut Cookies.

A great cookie for the coconut lovers in the group, the chocolate and coconut is a tasty combination for all to enjoy!

Coconut Treasure Macadamia Nut Cookies

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 (12-ounce) package Toasted Coconut NESTLÉ TREASURES, unwrapped and coarsely chopped
1 (7.5-ounce) jar macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease baking sheets.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat brown sugar, butter, shortening, granulated sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until combined. Add egg; beat until creamy. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Gently stir in Nestlé Treasures and nuts. Drop dough by heaping tablespoon 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.
  3. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes 42 cookies.
