Old-fashioned buttery pecan
tea cakes, laced with grated sweet chocolate...some things just
never go out of style.

Chocolate Holiday Butter Cookies
- 1 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Dash salt
6 ounces sweet chocolate, grated
1 cup chopped pecans
- Beat butter and sugar
until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla. Add dry ingredients;
mix well. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Chill dough several hours.
- Shape dough into 1-inch
balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 250°F (120°C)
for 35 to 40 minutes or until firm.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
