Buttermilk pie, an old-time
southern favorite in the realm of custard pies. Good taste never
goes out of style.
Buttermilk
Pie
- 1 1/2 cups granulated
sugar
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 (9-inch) pie shell, unbaked
- Beat together sugar,eggs,
butter and flour. Mix buttermilk and lemon extract together;
add to the creamed mixture. Pour into pie shell.
- Bake 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes,
or until the center is set. Allow to cool before serving.
Makes 8 servings.
