All-American Works Cheeseburger.

Americans love their cheeseburgers piled high with the 'works', lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles with a slathering of ketchup and mustard...on a toasted sesame seed bun!

All American "Works" Cheeseburger

1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 slices Wisconsin Pasteurized Process cheese
4 sesame seed or plain hamburger buns, toasted
Lettuce
4 tomato slices
4 onion slices
Ketchup
Mustard
Pickle slices
  1. Combine meat, onion and seasonings; mix well. Shape and cook as directed below.
  2. To Broil: Place patties on greased rack of broiler pan. Broil both sides to desired doneness. Top each with cheese; continue broiling until cheese is melted.
  3. To Grill: Place patties on greased grill over medium coals (coals will be glowing). Grill, uncovered, 5 minutes on each side to desired doneness. Top each with cheese; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
  4. Place each patty on bun topped with lettuce, tomato and onion. Top each patty with remaining ingredients.

Makes 4 servings.
