
Americans love their cheeseburgers
piled high with the 'works', lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles
with a slathering of ketchup and mustard...on a toasted sesame
seed bun!
All
American "Works" Cheeseburger
- 1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 slices Wisconsin Pasteurized Process cheese
4 sesame seed or plain hamburger buns, toasted
Lettuce
4 tomato slices
4 onion slices
Ketchup
Mustard
Pickle slices
- Combine meat, onion and
seasonings; mix well. Shape and cook as directed below.
- To Broil: Place patties
on greased rack of broiler pan. Broil both sides to desired doneness.
Top each with cheese; continue broiling until cheese is melted.
- To Grill: Place patties
on greased grill over medium coals (coals will be glowing). Grill,
uncovered, 5 minutes on each side to desired doneness. Top each
with cheese; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
- Place each patty on bun
topped with lettuce, tomato and onion. Top each patty with remaining
ingredients.
