Asian-style burger patties,
seasoned with chopped onion, soy and oyster sauces and sesame
seeds, are topped with slices of mozzarella cheese, bean sprouts
and pea pods and served on a sesame seed bun.
Asian
Cheeseburger
- 1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
1 tablespoon sesame seed, toasted
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 slices (1 ounce each) Wisconsin mozzarella cheese
4 sesame seed hamburger buns
1/2 cup bean sprouts
1/3 cup pea pod slices
- Combine beef, onion, oyster
sauce, sesame seed, soy sauce and pepper; mix well. Shape into
4 patties and cook as directed below.
- For Indoors: Place patties
on greased rack of broiler pan. Broil both sides to desired doneness.
Top each with mozzarella cheese; continue broiling until cheese
is melted.
- For Outdoors: Place patties
on greased grill over medium coals (coals will be glowing). Grill,
uncovered, 5 minutes on each side to desired doneness. Top each
with mozzarella cheese; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
- To serve, place each patty
on bun; top with bean sprouts and pea pods.
