A basic cheeseburger recipe
with the addition of finely chopped onion mixed into the ground
beef.
Basic
Cheeseburgers
- 1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 slices (1 ounce each) Wisconsin cheese (your favorite variety)
- 4 hamburger buns, toasted
- Combine meat, onion and
seasonings; mix well. Shape into four 4 inch patties.
- For Indoors: Place patties
on greased rack of broiler pan. Broil both sides to desired doneness.
Top each with cheese; continue broiling until cheese is melted.
- For Outdoors: Place patties
on greased grill over medium coals (coals will be glowing). Grill,
uncovered, 5 minutes on each side to desired doneness. Top each
with cheese; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
- Place cooked patties on
burger buns, garnish with your favorite toppings.
