A double cheeseburger...as
in two types of cheese, Swiss and cheddar.
Cheeseburger
- 1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 slices (1 ounce each) Wisconsin Swiss Cheese
8 slices (1 ounce each) Wisconsin Cheddar cheese
- Combine meat, onion and
seasonings; mix well. Shape into four 4 inch patties. Cook as
directed below.
- Place each patty on bun
topped with lettuce, 2 cheddar cheese slices and alfalfa sprouts.
Top with 2 Swiss cheese slices and additional alfalfa sprouts.
- For Indoors: Place patties
on greased rack of broiler pan. Broil on both sides to desired
doneness. Top each with cheddar cheese; continue broiling until
cheese is melted.
- For Outdoors: Place patties
on greased grill over medium coals (coals will be glowing). Grill,
uncovered, 5 minutes on each side to desired doneness. Top each
with cheddar cheese; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
