A fiery hot, sweet and savory coffee, Worcestershire,
tomato and red chile-based barbecue sauce.
Black Jack Barbecue
Sauce
1 cup strong black coffee
1 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup tomato catsup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups chopped onions
1/4 cup minced hot chile peppers
6 garlic cloves, minced
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan
and simmer 25 minutes. Cool.
- In small batches, puree mixture in a blender
or food processor until smooth. Store in a covered container
in the refrigerator.
Makes 5 cups.
