A great gift idea! All that needs to be done with this yummy cookie dough gift is to spoon out the dough and bake whenever the gift recipient has a hankering for warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Chocolate Chip Tub Cookie Mix

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
  1. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer. Gradually add sugars, beating until well blended. Add egg, sour cream and vanilla, mixing well.
  2. Combine flour, soda and slat; add to butter mixture, mixing well.
  3. Stir in Chocolate chips and pecans.
  4. Divide dough into 2 airtight gift containers.

Makes 2 (2 1/2 cup) gifts.

DIRECTIONS FOR GIFT CARD: Store dough for Chocolate Chip Tub Cookie Mix in refrigerator up to 4 weeks. When ready to bake, drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375°F ( 190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
