Revitalize summer-damaged hair with a versatile new cut.

I love fall -- it's the perfect time to start over, recharge, renew. As the seasons change, your beauty routine should too.

You don't need to put away all your summer makeup after Labor Day. Simply find a way to update your look by adding new fall lip or eye colors into the mix.

Skincare

First things first: Adjust your skincare routine according to the change in weather. Exfoliate your skin once a week to get rid of any summer flakiness, and switch to a slightly heavier moisturizer to protect your skin for the cooler and drier weather. You should, however, still use a moisturizer with built-in sunscreen to protect skin from the sun's damaging rays.

After you've gotten all the sand out of your shoes and returned to work, put away the sheer tinted moisturizer and opt for the more polished look of foundation and concealer. Fall's a good time to toss out your old foundation (which can get contaminated by bacteria) and invest in a new one. Concealer -- or what I call the secret to the universe -- is great for covering up under-eye circles.

Makeup

You should transition to fall makeup shades, but the switch from summer to fall makeup doesn't have to be drastic. Simple adjustments like opting for warmer, tawnier shades can make all the difference. Switch your sheer summer lip gloss with a creamy lipstick formula. If your summer glow has started to fade, dust bronzer on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.

This fall is all about nude shades inspired by the natural colors of the skin. They're universally flattering and totally sexy because they enhance a woman's true beauty and really let it show through. The natural look doesn't mean no makeup, it means finding shades that are right for your complexion; they should blend easily and seamlessly with your skin.

Hair

Spending a lot of time outdoors during the summer can wreak havoc on your hair. Fall is the perfect time to get your hair back into shape by trimming off the dry, dead ends. I also have my summer highlights toned down for a warmer look that's more suitable for fall.
