These beautiful sheer panels soften the straight lines in the room.

What You Need:

  • Sheer curtain fabric
  • Decorator fabric
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Clothes iron
  • Tape measure
  • Straight pins
  • Scissors

Instructions:

1. Start with 54-inch-wide sheer fabric; you'll need 2 yards for each panel. For the top border for each panel, you'll need 3/4 yard of 54-inch-wide decorator fabric.

2. Using the entire fabric width, cut sheer fabric into 72-inch lengths and decorator fabric to 24 inches.

3. With right sides and raw edges together, press decorator fabric in half to make a 12 x 54-inch strip; sew sides. Turn right side out.

4. Press under raw bottom edge 1/4 inch, then an additional 1/4 inch.

5. Press under sides and bottom edge of 54 x 72-inch sheer 1/4 inch, then an additional 1/4 inch; sew hems.

6. Slip top edge of sheer 1 inch inside the fabric cap; pin and topstitch along bottom of cap to secure.

7. From remaining decorator fabric, sew fourteen 9 x 1/2-inch fabric ties for each panel.

8. Sew pairs in even increments to panel top; tie onto a curtain rod.
