Wild garlic, like all alliums, is a member of the onion family. It's white flowers are tiny, but produced in profusion in flat-topped "umbels" on upright leafless stems. The plant is at home in a lightly shaded, woodland setting, and requires consistently moist soil. Other than that requirement, this bulb-forming plant is easy to grow. Give it some room, however, as it can spread quickly if conditions are to its liking.

Wild garlic makes a fine cut flower, but be aware that it produces a strong onion flavor when the flower stem is cut.

Care
A moist, well-drained site suits wild garlic. Water before the ground dries.

Planting
Plant bulbs in the fall about 3-inches deep in well-drained soil.
