Notable Varieties
'Snowbank' is a popular white variety growing 4 feet tall. 'Pink
Beauty' has pale pink flowers and grows 3 to 4 feet.
Care
Prefers rich, well-drained soil but will tolerate poorer soils
and, after the first year, drought. Mulch to conserve moisture.
Fertilize by working in compost two or three times during the
season or by applying a slow-release fertilizer, following label
directions exactly. Don't overfertilize or plant will flop. Plant
may need staking regardless.
Planting
Plant established plants in spring in all zones or also in fall
in Zones 7 to 9. Work plenty of compost into the soil and space
3 to 4 feet apart. |
