Angry Italian Bean Spread.

With its 'angry' spice and robust garlic flavor, this classic Italian spread offers one delicious bite after another. Created by Chef Michael Chiarello.

"Angry" Italian Bean Spread

1/4 cup packed Italian parsley leaves
2 cloves garlic, peeled
2 (15-ounce) cans red beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
3/4 cup BUITONI Refrigerated Arrabbiata Sauce
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Crackers or grilled bread
  1. Combine parsley and garlic in food processor; process for 30 seconds. Add beans, salt and pepper; process for 1 minute. Scrape down sides of bowl; process for 30 seconds. With processor running, add sauce and oil. Process for 30 seconds or until smooth.
  2. Serve with crackers or grilled bread.

Makes 2 2/3 cups (8 servings).

Tip: Serve the remaining Arrabbiata sauce as a spicy dip for breadsticks.
