Partially toasted bread
triangles are topped with a bacon and olive mixture and broiled
to perfecton.
Bacon-Olive
Hot Appetizer
- 6 strips of bacon
1/2 cup chopped black olives
1/2 cup chopped green olives
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 pound loaf of white bread
- Preheat the broiler.
- In a saucepan, cook strips
of bacon until crisp. Cool.
- Crumble bacon into a mixing
bowl. Add chopped black olives, chopped green olives, grated
cheddar cheese, curry, and mayonnaise and mix well.
- Cut loaf of white bread
into shapes, easiest is to trim crust and cut diagonally in both
directions to yield 4 triangles per slice of bread. Toast one
side of each bread shape under a broiler.
- Spread the mixture on
the untoasted side. Broil 4-inch from heat until lightly browned,
2 to 4 minutes.
Makes 32 appetizers.
