A chocolatey crumb crust
version of the classic 7-layer cookie bar.

Cookie Squares
- 3/4 cup butter
1 3/4 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
6 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
- Heat oven to 350°F
(175°C). Melt butter in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan in oven.
- Combine crumbs, cocoa
and sugar; sprinkle over butter.
- Pour sweetened condensed
milk evenly on top of crumb mixture. Top with chocolate and butterscotch
chips, then nuts.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes
or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
Chill, if desired. Cut into bars.
Makes 24 squares.
