A delicious chewy peanut butter brownie (blondie, really) studded with milk chocolate chips and decoratively drizzled with melted milk chocolate chips.

Rich Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownies

2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/3 cup milk
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 (12-ounce) package milk chocolate chips - divided use
1/2 teaspoon vegetable shortening
  1. Heat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  2. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and peanut butter in large bowl until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Gradually beat in milk.
  3. Stir in flour and baking powder, mixing well.
  4. Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips. Spread batter in prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. Melt remaining 1/2 cup chocolat chips and 1/2 teaspoon vegetable shortening in small microwave at HIGH (100%) for 30 seconds or just until melted when stirred. Drizzle bars with glaze. Allow to set before cutting into bars.

Makes 24 to 36 brownies.
