Rich Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Glaze

Cake:
1 cup (6-ounces) milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup boiling water
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Vanilla Glaze:
1/4 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons hot water
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour 12-cup Bundt pan.
  2. For Cake: Place chocolate chips and butter in a medium bowl, add boiling water and stir until chocolate is melted.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add chocolate mixture, beating until thoroughly blended. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla and blend well. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely.
  5. For Vanilla Glaze: Place butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in powdered sugar, hot water and vanilla, beating until smooth and slightly thickened. Drizzle over cooled cake.

Makes 12 servings.
