Butterscotch Haystacks
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
2 cups chow mein noodles
- Line cookie sheet with
wax paper.
- In a medium microwave-safe
bowl combine butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips and shortening
and microwave at HIGH (100%) for 1 minute; stir. If necessary,
microwave at HIGH an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring
after each heating, just until chips are melted and mixture is
smooth when stirred.
- Stir in chow mein noodles,
stirring until well coated. (Noodles will break up, which is
desirable.)
- Drop by heaping teaspoonfulss
onto prepared cookie sheet; let stand until firm, or refrigerate
until firm.
Makes about 2 dozen candies.
