You can't go wrong with these simple meatballs. Serve them with a salad, in a sandwich or with the sauce of choice.

Spicy Meatballs

1 pound lean ground beef
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, salt, garlic powder and hot pepper sauce.
  2. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on a roasting rack coated with vegetable cooking spray. Place the rack in a shallow roasting pan and broil 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or until done.

Makes 4 servings.

Cooking Tips:

  • If preferred, meatballs can be cooked in a large frying pan on top of the stove. Cook over medium-high heat, turning the pan to brown all sides; Cook until meatballs are cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • Serve as an hors d'oeuvres on toothpicks with a sweet-and-sour sauce, or serve as a main dish over pasta.
