Merry Meringues

4 large egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 (3.25-ounce) package Jell-O Brand Lime Flavor Gelatin
1 (3.25-ounce) package Jell-O Brand Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
  1. Preheat oven to 225°F.
  2. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in small bowl with electric mixer on high speed 5 minutes or until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  3. Drop tablespoonfuls of the egg white mixture onto baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  4. Sprinkle each meringue lightly with dry gelatin powders.
  5. Bake 50 minutes. Turn oven off. Prop oven door open slightly; let meringues stand in oven for 1 hour or until completely cooled.

Makes 12 servings.

Storage Know-How:
Store cooled meringues in tightly covered container at room temperature.
