A modest sodium, low potassium, low carb recipe.
Cheddar Cheese Ball
- 8 ounces (225g) bar light cream cheese, softened
1 cup (240mL) cheddar cheese, grated finely
1 1/2 tablespoons (22.5mL) Mrs. Dash® Garlic and Herb Seasoning Blend
1/4 teaspoon (1.25mL) dry mustard
1/2 cup (120mL) finely chopped roasted red peppers
3 green onions, finely chopped
1/2 cup (120mL) walnuts, finely chopped
- Place cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Mrs. Dash® Garlic and Herb Seasoning Blend and dry mustard in food processor; process until well combined and smooth.
- Remove from food processor to bowl. Fold in roasted red peppers and green onions.
- Remove from bowl, wrap the cheese mixture in plastic wrap. Form a ball and refrigerate 2 or 3 hours or until firm.
- Place chopped walnuts on large plate and roll cheese ball in walnuts, gently pressing them into the surface.
- Place cheese ball on a cheese platter and surround with crackers.
Makes 4 servings; Serving size: 2.1 ounces (58.1g).
