Pawpaw is an indigenous fruit to the U.S.,
its taste is similar to banana and is wonderful in this simple
custard pie. Serve topped with a dollop of sweetened whipped
cream.
Pawpaw Pie
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup pawpaw pulp (peeled and seeded)
- Place all ingredients in a saucepan and
stir together. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at
350°F (175°C). until the crust is done.
