A quick entree to prepare after a busy day -- wild rice and a salad will complete this meal.

Braised Pork Chops

6 pork chops
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup water

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium low heat; brown pork chops 15 minutes on each side. Season with salt and pepper. Add water, cover, simmer slowly until tender, about 10 minutes*. Serve hot.

Makes 6 servings.

* Pork chops should reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
