This breaded pork chop dish is a good one to give to junior cooks to try. Serve roasted potato wedges, buttered Brussels sprouts and a sliced orange salad.

Italian Roasted Pork Chops

4 boneless pork chops, 1/2-inch thick
1/2 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
1 tablespoon melted butter
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 large egg, slightly beaten
  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Line a 15x10x1-inch baking pan with foil; spray with vegetable cooking spray.
  3. In a shallow dish combine breadcrumbs, butter, lemon peel and basil. Brush chops with egg, then dip in crumb mixture to coat top and sides.
  4. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes or until nicely golden brown.

Serves 4.

Wine suggestion: Serve with a soft Merlot.
