1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese with chives, softened
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons chopped celery
1 tablespoon mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 teaspoon finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon horseradish
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash garlic powder
6 large eggs, hard-cooked and finely chopped
1 to 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or salad dressing
8 slices rye bread
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and butter. Stir until smooth.
  2. Stir in celery, mayonnaise, onion, sugar, horseradish, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Fold in hard-cooked eggs.
  4. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
