Honey Baked French Toast
A delicious, honey-sweetened French toast casserole, perfect for serving breakfast to a crowd.
15 large eggs
3 cups (1 1/2 pints) heavy cream
1/2 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 loaf French Bread
Butter for accompaniment
Maple syrup for accompaniment
- Beat eggs, cream, honey and nutmeg together.
- Slice bread into 10 slices. Dip into egg mixture and arrange in greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Pour remaining egg mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight-turning slices once.
- Uncover and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour. Serve with butter and warm maple syrup.
Makes 12 servings.
