Angels on Horseback
Grilled bacon-wrapped oysters served on the shell.
8 to 10 fresh oysters, shucked and shells reserved and cleaned
4 to 5 slices bacon
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- Preheat the grill.
- Cut each bacon slice in half and wrap around each oyster. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Secure with a cocktail stick.
- Cook over a moderate heat for 5 minutes, turning once.
- Return each oyster to the shell and serve as a starter with salad.
Makes 4 to 5 servings.
