Angels on Horseback

Angels on HorsebackGrilled bacon-wrapped oysters served on the shell.

Recipe Ingredients:

8 to 10 fresh oysters, shucked and shells reserved and cleaned
4 to 5 slices bacon
Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Cooking Directions:

  1. Preheat the grill.
  2. Cut each bacon slice in half and wrap around each oyster. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Secure with a cocktail stick.
  3. Cook over a moderate heat for 5 minutes, turning once.
  4. Return each oyster to the shell and serve as a starter with salad.

Makes 4 to 5 servings.
