Zesty Nutty Cheese Bites
The zesty comes from the Szechuan-style pepper blend used to season these nutty cheese bites...or sticks.
1 (16-ounce) package frozen bread or pizza dough
1 1/4 cups (5 ounces) shredded Wisconsin Raclette cheese
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 1/2 teaspoons Szechuan Style pepper blend
- Defrost dough according to package directions.
- Flatten the dough with a rolling pit to make a 12-inch circle. Sprinkle the remaining ingredients on top. Knead and turn the dough about 10 times to blend the ingredients well.
- Divide the dough in half and then into quarters. Roll each quarter to 12-inch length. Snip off into 4-inch pieces and roll or shape into 1-inch balls or 3-inch breadsticks. Place each one on a nonstick or lightly greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (205°C) for about 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
Makes 48 servings.
