Cream Cheese Frosting
A good, basic recipe for cream cheese frosting to add to your repertoire.
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups powdered sugar
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until well blended. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating to spreading consistency.
- Spread frosting on a cooled cake.
Frosts and fills an 8 or 9-inch layer cake or 1 (13x9x2-inch) cake.
