Wine Glazed Stuffed Figs for Hanukkah
A delicious fruit accompaniment or appetizer for Hanukkah.
1/3 cup sweet wine
1 pound California dried figs
15 to 20 walnut halves
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Pour wine over dried figs; let stand while preparing sauce.
- Bring water and sugar to boil; simmer 10 minutes. Add wine and figs. Simmer, turning figs frequently, until well glazed.
- Cool, split and stuff figs with walnuts. Can also be stuffed with pecans, cream cheese and crystal ginger.
Makes 15 to 20 servings.
