How long will chocolate chips
stay safe to eat in the freezer?
Q: How long will chocolate chips stay safe to eat
in the freezer. The chips in question have an expiration date
of May 2007. They have been in the freezer since I purchased
them. Thanks for your help.
A: In answer to your question, the frozen chocolate
chips are safe to eat. Chocolate does not spoil and is safe to
eat whether it is stored on the shelf or in the freezer indefinitely.
What is lost is the quality of the chocolate, but it never goes
"bad".
