How do you reduce the salt
in a too salty chili or stew?
Q: If your chili or stews are too salty how can you
reduce the salty taste?
A: It has been said a peeled and sliced potato dropped
into the pot would absorb the excess salt, but tests have proven
this theory not to be the case as any salt absorbed is minimal.
The best thing to do is simply extend the amount of the chili,
stew and or soup by adding more salt-free ingredients. You'll
have more, but leftovers are always a great timesaver the next
day and the next...
