Is there a difference between
regular sour cream and bakers sour cream?
Q: I was wondering what the difference between regular
sour cream and bakers sour cream is if any? Thanks.
A: I have heard of powdered sour cream (for the sake
of on-hand pantry convenience), but not bakers sour cream. My
guess is there probably isn't much difference between the two...but,
it could be that the bakers sour cream contains more fat for
richness. In most recipes, low-fat and fat-free sour cream can
be successfully substituted for regular sour cream, so there
shouldn't be a problem using regular sour cream in place of "bakers"
sour cream...but that is just an "educated guess"!
