Cardamon flavored candied nuts.

Cardamom Nuts

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup salted cashews
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  1. Melt butter in large skillet; stir in nuts and 1/2 cup sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and nuts are browned, about 8 to 10 minutes, being careful not to let them burn. (Caution, mixture will be extremely hot!)
  2. Combine the 1/4 cup sugar and cardamom in large bowl. Add the hot caramelized nuts and stir to coat well.
  3. Spread onto aluminum foil or waxed paper. Cool completely and break into clusters.
  4. Store in tightly covered container.

Makes 16 servings.
