The dough for these spicy
cheese puffs may be rolled in advance and kept refrigerated or
frozen until needed.
Cheese
Puffs with a Bite
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter,
softened
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Wisconsin cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Dash of cayenne pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
- Cream butter; blend in
cheddar cheese and seasonings. Gradually blend in flour. Shape
dough into a smooth ball, wrap in waxed paper, and chill thoroughly.
- Removing about 1/4 of
the dough at a time, shape into 1-inch diameter balls, flouring
hands to make rolling easier.
- Arrange balls about 2-inches
apart on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake in 350°F (175°C)
oven for 12 to 15 minutes; serve hot.
