Sure it's a cinch to buy a jar of salsa, but this recipe is almost as easy. It's packed with punch and worth the minimal effort.
1 1/2 cups ORTEGA® Diced Green Chiles
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic, diced
1 1/2 cups plum tomatoes, diced
1 cup red onion, diced
3 tablespoons (1 lime) lime juice
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
4 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- Combine all the above ingredients, except the cilantro.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Add freshly chopped cilantro 15 minutes prior to serving.
- Serve as a side dish/sauce for grilled chicken or with baked tortilla chips.
