Smoked Sausage and Queso Fundido Dip
An easy to make cheese dip served with slices of grilled smoked sausage and corn chips. Makes a great appetizer while watching the game!
Recipe Ingredients:1 (14-ounce) package Butterball® Smoked Turkey Dinner Sausage
12 ounces Velveeta Pasteurized Process Cheese Spread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 1/4 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 (10-ounce) can tomatoes and mild green chilies, undrained
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
4 cups corn chips
- Preheat grill to medium direct heat. Grill sausage 8 to 10 minutes, turning frequently, until sausage is light golden brown on all sides. Remove from grill. Cut sausage into 1/2-inch thick slices; keep warm.
- Meanwhile, combine cheeses and canned tomatoes in a 1 1/2 quart microwaveable container. Microwave on HIGH 3 minutes. Stir in cilantro. Microwave 2 additional minutes. Remove from microwave, stir and place in serving container.
- To serve, place cheese in center of large serving platter. Surround with sausage and corn chips.
Makes 8 servings.
Tip: To pan-fry sausage, heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Brown sausage on all sides. Remove; cut sausage into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
