Andrea's Fudgie Brownies

No recipe image available.These incredible fudgy brownies are topped with an easy homemade chocolate frosting.

Recipe Ingredients:

1 cup butter - divided use
1/2 cup vegetable oil
10 tablespoons NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa - divided use
1 cup water
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
6 tablespoons milk
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Cooking Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, heat 1/2 cup butter, oil, 5 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa, and water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add sugar and flour. Beat in eggs, sour milk, vanilla, and baking soda.
  2. Pour into a greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  3. Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool. Frost. Cut into bars.
  4. For Frosting: In a small saucepan bring 1/2 cup butter, 5 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa, and milk to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar. Beat till thoroughly combined. Stir in chopped nuts.

Makes 36 bars.
