Cocoa Brownies with Walnuts
A classic recipe for chewy, homemade cocoa brownies with crunchy walnuts in every bite.
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease an 8x8x2-inch pan; set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, beat melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, and unsweetened baking cocoa. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- In another bowl, mix flour and baking powder. Stir into the creamed mixture adding vanilla and chopped walnuts.
- Spread in prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool.
Makes 16 brownies.
