A chocolate cake mix and a can of cherry
pie filling puts the easy in these yummy cookie bars.
Easy Chocolate Cherry
Bars
- Bars:
- 1 (18.25-ounce) package devil's food cake
mix
1 (21-ounce) can cherry fruit pie filling
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 large eggs, beaten
Chocolate Glaze:
- 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 hot water
- For Bars: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- In large bowl, combine all ingredients
except frosting; stir until well blended. Pour into prepared
pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden
pick inserted in center comes out clean. Drizzle with Chocolate
Glaze. Cool completely and cut into bars.
- For Glaze: Combine all
ingredients in bowl and beat by hand until smooth. Add more water,
if needed, a teaspoon at a time for desired consistency for drizzling.
Makes 36 bars.
