A chocolate cake mix and a can of cherry pie filling puts the easy in these yummy cookie bars.

Easy Chocolate Cherry Bars

Bars:
1 (18.25-ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1 (21-ounce) can cherry fruit pie filling
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 large eggs, beaten

Chocolate Glaze:
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 hot water
  1. For Bars: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  2. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except frosting; stir until well blended. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Drizzle with Chocolate Glaze. Cool completely and cut into bars.
  4. For Glaze: Combine all ingredients in bowl and beat by hand until smooth. Add more water, if needed, a teaspoon at a time for desired consistency for drizzling.

Makes 36 bars.
