If you like nuts, you'll
absolutely love this sweet and salty nutty treat!
Mixed
Nut Bars
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose
flour
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (12-ounce) can salted mixed nuts
1 (6-ounce) package butterscotch chips
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter
- In mixing bowl combine
flour, sugar and 1/2 cup butter. Beat for 2 to 3 minutes or until
mixture resembles fine crumbs. Pat mixture evenly onto the bottom
of an ungreased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 325°F (160°C)
for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle nuts evenly over
baked mixture.
- In a small saucepan combine
butterscotch chips, corn syrup and 3 tablespoons butter. Cook
and stir over low heat until melted. Pour melted mixture over
nuts. Return to oven and bake 10 minutes.
- Cool and cut into 1 1/2-inch
squares.
Makes 48 bars.
