Rainbow Brownies
- 1 cup butter OR margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 (12-ounce) package OR 2 cups candy covered chocolate pieces
1 cup nuts, chopped
- Preheat oven to 375*F.
- In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking soda. Add to the creamed mixture and blend well. Stir in candy covered chocolate pieces and chopped nuts. Spread the dough into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool before cutting.
Makes 24 bars.
