Based on the campfire treat,
these yummy cookie bars are quick, easy and a sure-fire hit with
young and old alike.
S'Mores
Bars
- 2 cups graham cracker
crumbs
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted
butter, melted
- 1 (12-ounce ) package
milk chocolate chips
- 4 cups mini-marshmallows
- Preheat oven to 350°F
(175°C).
- In a bowl combine graham
cracker crumbs, sugar, salt and butter. Reserve 1 cup of crumb mixture and set aside. Press
remaining mixture in
the bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Bake for 12 minutes,
or until golden brown.
Cool on a rack.
- In a metal bowl set over
a saucepan of barely simmering water melt chocolate, stirring constantly. Spread evenly over
baked crust; sprinkle with
marshmallows, pressing them lightly. Sprinkle the reserved crumb
mixture evenly over all. Broil
for 30 seconds, or until the marshmallows are puffed and golden. Allow to cool completely
and cut it into squares.
Makes about 24 bars.
